The English Labrador Retriever is our love here at Highland Labradors, not our business.
This love affair has lasted 30 years - yes we are hooked on Labs. Our Labradors are part of our family, they are not just dogs. The Labrador Retriever has been number one for a great number of years in the united States.
Many people jump on the band wagon and breed for profit motive, without regards to preserving the very traits that brought the Labrador to number one.
We breed for versatility, which is typical of the original Labrador. This includes athletics, soundness, calm, loving temperament, conformation, natural hunting partners, service dogs (of all kinds) show ring, obedience, field and trial, and the best family pet,
ALL IN ONE PACKAGE.
As a breeder of Labradors we do our best genetically speaking. We have CERF (eye clearances), OFA (joint clearances for hips and elbows) and DNA (on sires).
All our dogs are registered AKC.
Be sure you are really ready for a Labrador puppy. Ask questions of the breeer and they intern can help you decide if a Labrador is right for you. Do your homework on the needs and habits of the Labrador. A puppy is like a 2 year old child, into everything.
